A fireworks display goes off, several shades of red blast off into the air and a burning effigy rises up into the air, ascending to above. The titantron flashes with the words “ASCENSION 2017!” emblazoned in fire. We cut to the commentary desk to see Kohl smiling politely and Beast wiping the crumbs off his suit quickly
Kohl: WELCOME TO GCW ASCENSION! LIVE FROM THE SMOOTHIE KING CENTRE IN NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA!
Beast: Smoothie King is tonights sponsor! They’ve generously donated me several tonnes of their product to test!
Kohl: Did you really need to plug them now?
Beast: Hey, this sponsorship bullshit is putting my kids through college.
Kohl: Anyway! Tonight is an action packed showing as Kidd West challenges Owen Hawes for the GCW World Heavyweight Championship and Edgar Whateley fights Darius Seeiso in Falls Count Anywhere action to determine the new International Champion!
Beast: Don’t forget we have US Title action tonight too as Social Media Savant Simon Cade challenges the inaugural US Champion Sway Archer in what is sure to be an interesting cage match.
Kohl: Can’t forget Kenji getting his rematch this week against Hardcore Champion Red Dragon, a man who last week brutalised and destroyed Jack Rodgers. Leaving Rodgers hospitalised with broken bones!
Beast: Don’t hate the man Kohl! Lets get this show on the road!
Hardcore Tables Ladders & Chairs. Red Dragon (c) vs. Kenji Yamada
The ring crew begins to carry down and set up some ladders and tables around the ring. With everything set up they begin to head back.
It was very difficult to call this a "wrestling" match instead of a bloodbath. It started off relatively tame with Kenji keeping Red Dragon away from the weapons and forcing him to use his in-ring ability. Eventually Dragon gets his hands on a ladder before slamming it directly into Kenji's face, breaking his nose. Dragon is the first to attempt a climb to the title but Kenji manages to tip Dragon off, making him bounce off the ropes. However, Dragon is barely fazed and is able to come back on the offensive with a vicious dropkick to Kenji on the apron, sending him into a nearby table. Not satisgied enough, he follows the now bloody Kenji and uses a chair to injure the ribs and back. Dragon also throws the ring steps into the ring and trsps Kenji underneath them. Thinking he has the match won, Dragon goes for the title a second time but once again Kenji frees himself from the steps and pulls him down so he landd on the steps head first, makibg him bleed as well. Kenji now attempts his own climb to the title and is able to get his finger tips on it before Dragon rolls back into the ring with a kendo stick to the back of Kenji. Red Dragon sets up a second ladder and without hesitation, continues to strike Kenji's back with the kendo stick. It takes 10 solid hits before Kenji himself falls off the ladder back first into the ring steps, ending up unconcious from the fall. With Kenji unable to stop him, Red Dragon moves to the other ladder before reaching for the title and retrieving it to retain the belt and win the match.
US Cage Match. Simon Cade vs. Sway Archer (c) – By Kenji Yamada
The ring crew return, beginning to set up the cage using the pieces available to them. The towering steel structure hangs above the ring as the ref opens the door and nods toward the ring announcer Howard Fink.
Fink: Ladies and gentlemen, the following Contest is a cage match and it is for the United States Championship! Making his way to the ring first, from Farmington, Connecticut, weighing in at 237 pounds, Simon Cade!
*Glorious domination plays through the speaker as Simon Cade emerges from backstage onto the entrance ramp. He slowly makes his way to the ring, ignoring the crowd’s boos before sliding in and staring at the crowd. After a few seconds, he smirks and leans into the corner.
Fink: And his opponent, from Chicago Illinois, weighing in at 189 pounds, he is the current United States champion, Sway Archer!
*As Kanye west’s black skinhead begins to play, the lights cut out. The drums hit in and the lights begin to flicker to the song. Sway emerges from the back and bobs his head to the music. He points to the stage before pointing to the sky, triggering a cheer from the crowd. Sway kisses his fist and begins swiftly making his way to the ring. He rolls into the ring and stands in the centre. He points to the sky once more as sparks rain from the sky. When they finish, he stands in the corner, staring at Simon.
*With both men in their corners, the cage lowers to the ring, surrounding it completely. *
Kohl: Here we go Beast, the United States Championship match is about to be defended inside a steel cage.
Beast: Good, we can keep that animal Sway exactly where he is meant to be, in a cage.
*The two competitors lock up in a collar and elbow tie up with Simon getting the upper hand to begin with. He whips Sway to the ropes and ducks underneath and goes for a clothesline. However, Sway ducks his arm and rebounds off the ropes into a hurricanrana. Simon, shaken from the move, shuffles over to the corner where he is met with a diving forearm smash. As Simon collapses to the floor, Sway turns to the crowd and begins to hype them up. *
Kohl: A good start for Sway, making sure he stays quick on his feet.
Beast: *grumbling* yeah, I guess he’s doing ok.
Kohl: Oh, lighten up Beast. Don’t tell me you are still sour from what Sway said to you?
Beast: …
*As Sway grabs Simon to lift him onto his feet, he places him in a powerbomb position and lifts him onto his shoulders. But before he can slam him down, Simon jumps off behind Sway and grabs his head, ramming it straight into the steel cage. Cade instantly grabs Sway back up and throws him into it again. And just for added measure, he pushes Sway’s face into the cage. Sway rolls on the floor as Simon takes the time to gloat to the crowd, triggering the boos. *
Kohl: And just like that, Simon has taken control.
Beast: Just like it should be. Go get him Simon, teach that kid a lesson.
*With Simon now firmly in control, he lifts Sway back to his feet before immediately executing a scoop slam into a vicious knee to the jaw. Before Sway can even react, Simon is already running to the ropes and landing a leg drop to the chest. Simon again doesn’t waste time in landing some punches to the face. *
Kohl: Simon is really showing his aggressive side here tonight.
*Simon now realises that this could be his chance to escape the cage, so with that, he grabs onto the side of the cage and begins his slow climb. The crowd try to cheer Sway back to his feet as he staggers to his feet to stop Simon. Sway is able to reach Simon so they are at the same height and the punches start. Simon with a right, Sway with a left, and again, and again. Simon goes for one more punch but he is blocked by Sway. Sway mouths something inaudible to Simon before swinging his leg into the back of Simon, making him fall to the floor. Sway looks down at the fallen Simon, he looks at the top of the cage, and he shakes his head. Suddenly, Sway leaps off the cage and lands with a moonsault onto Simon. *
Kohl: What a Moonsault by Sway, leaving an opportunity to win by escaping for the more devastating option. He goes for the pin…1…2…Simon Kicks out!
*Sway looks over to the ref who clarifies to him that it was indeed a two count. Sway looks down to Simon and this time nods his head. He stands up and points to the crowd and then Simon before ushering him to stand up. *
Kohl: Here we go, Sway is looking like he’s about to hit Ultralight Beam. Simon is slowly making it to his feet. Here we go…Simon stays on his feet! They both run at each other, Simon spins around Sway…BREAKDOWN! This could be all over…1…2…SWAY KICKS OUT! I thought he had him!
Beast: No way! That was a 3! I’m sure of it. Where’s the instant replay.
*Simon begins to scream at the ref before slamming his hands on the floor in frustration. He looks over to the crowd and stares at them intensely. However, he changes the stare into a laugh as he turns and readies for a second Breakdown. Sway needs the ropes to stand as he backs up to Simon. He grabs Sway for the Breakdown…Sway pushes him away into the cage face first! Simon grabs his nose (which has been busted open from the blow) and backs up…directly into an Ultralight Beam! *
Kohl: SWAY HITS THE BEAM! SWAY HITS THE BEAM! He goes for the cover….1…2…3! Sway retains his title!
Beast: NO NO NO NO! I can’t believe he did it! God Dammit!
Kohl: That’s right Beast, Simon put up one hell of a fight but he couldn’t finish the job and eventually, Sway is able to hit Ultralight to retain his title.
Beast: Simon’s injured! That monster has busted open Simon. Someone get some help down here for Simon!
Money In The Bank – Ladder Match.
Ken Hart vs. Jensen vs. The Answer vs. Andrew Jordan vs. Brandon Irving vs. Mason Childers -By Kenji Yamada
The ring is set up after a commercial break, we see the briefcase being raised up high above the ring attached to a rope. The ref waits before nodding towards the announcer
Fink: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is the Ascension Ladder match! A contract will be suspended in a briefcase above the ring. The first Wrestler to climb a ladder and retrieve the briefcase wins the match and is guaranteed a championship match whenever they desire. Introducing first, from Gordo, Alabama, weighing in at 365 pounds, Mason Childers!
*As Balls to the Wall by Accept begins to play, the lights cut off in the arena. As the line “Watch the Damned” is said, A spotlight turns on to reveal Mason, taking a knee. As the chorus starts, the lights turn back on and Mason stands up with his fist in the air. He begins to walk confidently down to the ring. As he turns the corner, he high fives one fan and makes his way up the steps into the ring. Once in the ring, he extends his arm as if to embrace the crowd.
Fink: Next, from Charlotte, North Carolina, weighing in at 247 pounds, Brandon Irving!
*As the Four horseman theme starts, Brandon casually makes his way onto the entrance ramp. Without breaking eye contact with the ring, he makes his way down the ramp, ignoring the boos from the crowd. As he reaches the ring, Brandon slides in and simply leans in his corner, waiting for the other competitors.
Fink: Next, from Seoul, South Korea, weighing in at 245 pounds, Andrew Jordon!
*Darude Sandstorm erupts from the speakers as an orange glow emits from the aisle as Andrew emerges and hypes the crowd up as he makes his way to the ring. He runs the final few meters and
slides into the ring, eyeballing his opponents as he takes a corner and waits patiently.
Fink: Also, from Newark, New Jersey, weighing in at 221 pounds, Ken Hart!
*John Morrison’s theme begins to play as Ken follows a spotlight onto the entrance ramp. Once in the centre, he strikes a pose, ushering the crowd to boo. Once satisfied, Ken arrogantly walks to the ring, making sure the crowd know of his achievements. As he enters the ring, he poses one final time as pyro bursts from the corners. *
Fink: And, from Providence, Rhode Island, weighing in at 180 pounds, The Answer!
*Through a chorus of boos, Man on the Silver Mountain can be heard as The Answer emerges, proudly holding his prestigious title aloft. While his eyes are closed, Answer saunters down to the ring, title still in the air, with a small grin evidently showing. As he reaches the ring, he lowers the title and makes his way inside the squared circle. Once he is in the centre, Answer bows before coming straight back up with the title again in the air. *
Fink: Finally, from Portland Oregon, weighing in at 217 pounds, Jensen!
*As the Pines by Portugal The Man begins to play, Jensen emerges and raises his arms, triggering the fans to respond with cheers. He walks confidently to the ring, high fiving fans on his way down but keeping his mind focused on the task at hand. After making his way into the ring, he removes his florescent jacket and his international belt, carefully handing it to the ref for safe keeping. *
*With all 6 men ready, the ladder match begins. Everyone seems very hesitant to make the first move until Ken strangely walks into the centre of the ring with a microphone in his hand. He begins to lambast the other competitors for their lack of achievements. Once he is satisfied, he poses in the centre of the ring so the crowd could sink it in. As he turns around, he is greeted wih a vicious clothesline from Mason*
Beast: Good God Kohl! I think Ken might have been beheaded! Someone go and check on him.
*As the other men stare at Mason, he picks up Ken and invites the others to do as they please. Brandon is the first to take up his offer, landing a flowing DDT. Andrew is up next, who runs his knee into Ken while he is on his knees. The Answer, amused by the ganging up on Ken, decides to add his own touch with an Answer Driver. Finally, Jensen ends Ken’s misery by performing a shotgun dropkick to him, knocking him through the middle rope. For an added insult, a ladder tips over and lands on top of Ken, trapping him*
Kohl: Well that was…interesting.
Beast: I have never seen such a bizarre mix of people banding together to destroy one innocent man. What Monsters are these people?
*As the remaining 5 begin to chuckle to themselves, they suddenly begin to brawl, Andrew on Mason and Jensen on Brandon. Each pairing start to throw punches as they make their ways into different corners. The Answer, with no one attacking him, shrugs his shoulders and leaves the ring. He looks at a relatively short ladder and shakes his head. He then gazes at a slightly larger one but again shakes his head in disapproval. Finally, he locks his eyes on the largest ladder, standing at an incredible 25 feet. He nods his head in approval and slides it into the ring. *
Kohl: Looks like Answer has got some plans for that Ladder.
*Meanwhile, Andrew and Mason have spilled onto the outside themselves. Mason appeared to have the upper hand until Andrew dodged a right hand into a discus lariat. As Mason steps back in pain, Andrew finds a tiny pair of step ladders and charges at Mason who falls to the ground from the impact. Brandon, who is connecting with very stiff punches, is able to get Jensen ready for an Irish whip. The Answer, who spots his rival ready to head in his direction, gets the ladder ready for a strike. Brandon launches Jensen towards Answer who runs at him. However, Jensen ducks the strike from Answer who keeps going until he hits Brandon directly in the face. As the Answer turns to go for a second swing, he is met with a pele kick which forces him to drop the ladder and roll out the ring. *
Kohl: What a close shave there for Jensen. Now he’s got a good chance to go for the contract.
*As Jensen struggles to sort the ladder out, Andrew has placed a ladder between the apron and the barrier and has Mason by his feet. He signals to the crowd that they are going to witness something incredible and lifts Mason to his feet and into a German suplex position. The crowd begin to get excited, unsure whether Andrew can lift the big man. Andrew goes for German but he can’t even lift the 300+ pound Mason who connects with a backwards headbutt into a belly to belly suplex away from the ladder. *
Beast: Well that was ambitious from Andrew and now he paid the price.
*Back in the ring, Jensen has finally set up the ladder under the contract and is beginning his climb to the top. However, Brandon, who is slightly cut from the ladder shot, climbs the ladder after Jensen and grabs his leg. Jensen struggles to get his leg free but is able to and instantly connects with a kick to the side of the head, knocking Brandon to the floor. With a clear path to the contract, Jensen climbs to the top of the 25 foot ladder and grasps the brief case. However, once his hands touch the case, The Answer climbs back into the ring and uses all his might to tip the ladder backwards*
Kohl: NO ANSWER! DON’T DO IT... JENSEN IS SENT THROUGH THE LADDER THAT ANDREW SET UP! HE MAY BE BROKEN IN HALF!
*The Answer leans on the rope by Jensen’s prone body and smiles at his handy work, mouthing to Jensen “You should have seen it coming.” With his rival finally taken care of, he turns to set the ladder up again and starts to climb it himself. As he starts to climb, Mason enters the ring and climbs the other side of the ladder in pursuit of The Answer. Quickly following behind him is Andrew who brings in his own ladder and sets it up directly next to the first ladders before hastily rushing up it. Brandon is also not far behind. Now looking even more pissed off, he climbs Andrews ladder and the four competitors slug it out on top of the ladders. *
Kohl: Once wrong step and someone could be expecting the same fate as Jensen who is being checked by doctors as we speak.
Beast: Oh boy Kohl, at least two people are going to crash and burn, I love it!
*Beast is not wrong as Answer and Mason are both able to stun their opponents before pushing their ladder over, sending Andrew and Brandon into the top rope, with Andrew bouncing his head off the rope and Brandon landing with the rope between his legs before stumbling to the ground. *
Kohl: What a fall! Both Andrew and Brandon seem out of it now. It’s down to Answer and the debuting Mason. Who will win a guaranteed championship opportunity?
*After seeing Andrew and Brandon falling to the ground, The Answer turns to face the two on the floor, shouting profanities at the pair. Once he is satisfied, he turns to face Mason who lands a devastating right hook to The Answer’s jaw. The Answer seems completely out of it as he falls back, however, his foot gets trapped in the ladder gap and his unconscious body lies on the ladder upside down. Mason, realising that this is his best moment, reaches for the briefcase…and successfully unhooks it from its place! *
Kohl: Mason has done it! Mason has done it! On his in-ring debut for GCW, Mason Childers has won an opportunity at a championship of his choosing whenever he wants!
Beast: I must say, Mason was quite the underdog going into this but nevertheless he is the last man standing.
Kohl: That’s correct Beast. Ken is still under the ladder, Andrew and Brandon are still feeling the effects of landing on the rope, Answer is upside down on the ladder and Jensen has only just been stretchered away by medical staff. That leaves Mason victorious! What a contest.
As Mason makes his way up the ramp, a figure walks past him dressed in jeans an an Anarchy Club T-Shirt. The camera pans up to reveal John Styles making his way over to the commentary booth. Beast looks at him defensively as Kohl nods.
Kohl: Our special guest commentator has arrived
Beast: There’s only room here for one wrestler
John grabs a headset and puts it on
John: Maybe if you lost some weight you could definitely fit another
Beast goes silent as Kohl chokes back tears of laughter
Kohl: So John, nice of you to join us for our final two matches.
International Falls Count Anywhere Darius Seeiso vs. Edgar Whateley -By Darius Seeiso
Fink: The following contest, is scheduled for one fall, and it is for, the International Championship!
The lights go completely black and smoke fills the stage - a green spotlight follows Whateley down to the ring as he carries a large, leatherbound, ancient looking book wrapped in black felt - with strange golden symbols imprinted on it. He sits in the ring crosslegged and removes the book, studies a few passages, and as the main, higher pitched synth line of the music starts, the lights fade up to a green glow, and then continue to fade to the regular house lights. At this stage he places the book back in its cover and removes his overcoat, now ready to fight.
Blackout
As verse starts, and guitar comes in, the stage turns a deep red.
Darius comes out slowly, and pauses at the top of the ramp.
The guitar drops and Darius looks up as the spotlights hit him. He has his title draped over one shoulder, and animal fur draped over the other.
Darius saunters down to the ring, looking generally unimpressed.
As Darius enters the ring, he shakes his head. He looks down, to see Edgar’s book and coat at the corner of the ring. Darius stands in the middle, and snarls at the crowd, raising his title high.
He then moves slowly over to the corner, drapes his title over the top rope, and kneels, awaiting Howard Finkel’s introduction.
Fink: Introducing first, from The Mountains of Madness, Edgar Whateley!
Edgar steps into the centre of the ring and raises his hand, before being blindsided by Darius.
Kohl: That forearm sending Edgar reeling!
Darius snatches Edgar to his feet, and continues hammering away at him with forearms. The ref tries to break it up, but Darius has a tight grip on Edgar, and isn’t letting go. Darius throws Edgar over the top rope, leaving him stunned on the floor outside the ring.
Kohl: The bell hasn’t even rung yet!
Beast: Exactly! Kudos to Darius for getting a head start!
John: Ehh, kinda cowardly.
Beast: Good point John, very cowardly!
Darius rolls out of the ring, and picks Edgar up. He picks him up in a back suplex, and drops him onto the apron. He pushes Edgar into the ring, and then slides in. Darius steps over Edgar, and sits in the corner, waiting for the bell.
Kohl: Darius taking an unfair advantage to start this match!
Edgar makes it to his feet, and the ref calls for the bell.
Kohl: Darius charging over to Edgar – and he’s met with a stiff forearm! Darius just got rocked!
Darius rolls out of the ring, and Edgar struggles to regain composure in the corner. Darius grabs Edgar’s ankle, and drags him to the floor.
John: Why can’t Darius just fight, in the ring?
Beast: Darius taking the fight where he wants it to be here!
As Edgar sits up against the steel steps, Darius charges, and blasts him with a penalty kick, sending the back of Edgar’s head bouncing off the steps.
Kohl: Darius not leaving any time for Edgar to breathe, he’s dragging him to his feet, bringing him over to the barricade.
Darius takes Edgar by his hair, and throws him head first into the barricade. Darius holds on, drags Edgar up again, and throws him in once more. Edgar rolls under the ring, and Darius stands back, puzzled.
Beast: Look at that coward Edward! You can’t stay under there forever!
John: I’d never resort to hiding under the ring, to be honest.
Darius slides into the ring, and looks around. He keeps checking each side of the ring, waiting for Edgar to come out.
Kohl: It looks like Edgar’s gonna try!
The apron starts moving on the side of the ring near the announce table, and Darius goes over. Edgar crawls out, with his book hidden from Darius. Darius leans out of the ring, and goes to grab Edgar’s hair. Just as Darius gets a hold, Edgar smashes the book into the face of Darius. Darius stumbles back into the ring, and Edgar slides in, book in hand.
Kohl: Resourcefulness is something our GCW superstars pride themselves on, and Edgar using that book is a prime example!
Edgar throws the book off the back of Darius’ head with a sickening thud, sending the book bouncing almost into the crowd. He follows it up with a kick to Darius’ gut. Darius rolls to the other side of the ring, and starts retreating up the entrance ramp. Edgar chases him out and runs up the apron, nailing Darius in the back of the head with a clubbing forearm.
Beast: They’re headed to the back now! Get a cameraman over there!
As they disappear behind the curtain, seconds later the titantron lights up with a camera on Darius and Edgar.
Beast: There we go!
Edgar throws Darius back first into the wall, and then throws him into the interview area. As Darius lands at the feet of Lola, he crawls through her legs, and stands up behind her. Edgar goes to move her out of the way, and Darius nails him with a Royal Fury.
Kohl: Darius using Lola as a shield!
John: Coward…
Beast: Talk about the resourcefulness now, Kohl!
Darius falls onto Edgar for the pin, only for a count of 1 and a half.
Darius, growing frustrated, picks Edgar up. He clubs Edgar and the back, and Edgar retaliates by driving Darius into the wall. As they begin to brawl down the hallway, Edgar breaks off of Darius, and hits a discus clothesline. Edgar looks to the catering table, and brings Darius to his feet.
Beast: Oh come on! The food! Think of the food!
John: There there, Beast, at least he’s clearing the table!
Edgar quickly throws the food off the table, and sets Darius up for the crucifix powerbomb.
Beast: THE FOOD!
Edgar slams Darius through the table with the crucifix powerbomb, and drops down for the pin.
Kohl: One, two – No! Darius kicks out!
Edgar continues to kick Darius in the chest, as he sits against the wall. Edgar backs up, setting up to sandwich Darius into the wall with the cannonball senton. As he charges in, Darius moves, and Edgar crashes into the wall.
Beast: Hard landing there!
Darius retreats down the hallway, as Edgar remains writhing on the ground.
Kohl: Where’s he going?
A camera comes up on the ringside area as we see Darius staggering down the steps through the fans. He stops at the barricade, and picks up Edgar’s book, that was left there earlier. He then flops over the barricade, and goes to reach under the ring. Darius pulls out a sledgehammer, and slides into the ring with both the book and the sledgehammer.
Kohl: What’s Darius got planned here with Edgar’s book?
John: Maybe he should read it. Darius isn’t the smartest man in the world.
Edgar stumbles out through the entranceway, holding his lower back. Darius uses his foot to slide the book into the centre of the ring. He laughs, and holds the sledgehammer over the book, before motioning for Edgar to come into the ring. Edgar realizes what Darius plans to do with the book, and starts charging down to the ring. Edgar slides in, and Darius slams the sledgehammer into his gut. As Edgar keels over, he reaches for his book. Darius steps on Edgar’s hand, and then steps on the book. As Darius raises the sledgehammer, music begins blaring through the speakers.
Kohl: What? What’s this?
Nigel Alexander appears on the stage, waving to Darius, and jogging down to the ring. Darius steps off of Edgar and the book, and begins yelling at Nigel.
John: What in the hell is Nigel doing here? Bastard has a lot of nerve coming out here, especially when I’m –
Beast: John, we know you’re upset, but let’s deal with that anger another time. I for one, enjoy working here.
Nigel jogs around towards the timekeepers area, and picks up the International Championship. Darius keeps yelling, and points the sledgehammer at Nigel, telling him to put the title back. Using the distraction, Edgar hits Darius in the back of the head with the book.
John: HA! Keep your eyes on your opponent Darius! I’d never be so stupid!
Kohl: Edgar might be able to beat Darius here!
As Darius drops the sledgehammer, and turns around, Edgar hits a headbutt to Darius’ jaw, sending him staggering back into the ropes. Darius bounces off the ropes, and Edgar hits a wicked forearm, knocking Darius out cold.
Kohl: That could be it! Darius is out! One! Two!
John: Three! Haha! Darius loses!
Kohl: Edgar Whateley is the new International Champion, with the assist to Nigel!
Beast: Nigel had very little to do with this! Darius couldn’t focus, and that’s his problem!
GCW World Heavyweight Owen Hawes (c) vs. Kidd West -By Kidd West
Fink: This match is set for one fall and is for the GCW World Heavyweight Championship.
The lights dim down as an instrumental of Nirvana’s ‘Heart Shaped Box’ plays. As the guitar kicks in we see a figure step out. A hooded sleeveless jacket on with a symbol on the back saying KW. They step down the ramp slowly, glancing at fans until 46 seconds into the song when suddenly the drums kick in heavily. He whips his hood back as pyro shoots up beside him, revealing his face as Kidd West.
Fink: From Calgary, Canada! He is The Executioner… KIDD WEST!!!
He slides into the ring and walks over to the ropes opposite the commentary table. He winks at John Styles and then removes his jacket and cracks his knuckles, revealing bandages up wrists and hands for fighting.
The lights shut off. Red fog begins to pour from the entranceway and down the ramp, surrounding the ring. ‘O Fortuna’ blasts deafeningly across the arena as a figure obscured by red fog steps forward. He raises a championship belt as spotlights suddenly blast him and bathe him in red light, almost as if he was bathed in blood. He steps down the ramp menacingly whilst showing off the World Heavyweight Championship.
Fink: Making his way to the ring, From Dorchester, Massachusetts… he is you GCW World Heavyweight Champion… The Nightmare… OWEN HAWES!!!
Hawes steps onto the ring apron and looks at West, never breaking eye contact. He steps forward and goes face to face with him raising his championship up high. The ref pushes the two apart quickly and takes the title from Owen Hawes.
Kohl: What an anticipated match, the Nightmare vs. The Executioner
Beast: One of these guys is gonna walk out of here champion thats for sure
Styles: We’ll see, I have a feeling both will be leaving here crawling tonight
The bell rings as these two men stare at each other intensely. West tries to rush forward but Hawes meets him in the middle and the two lock up. West pushes Hawes back into the ropes and then tosses him forward, irish whipping Hawes. As he rebounds, West hits Hawes with a strong dropkick sending Hawes crashing to the mat. Picking the Nightmare up by his hair, West relentlessly begins punching him in the face. Suddenly Hawes catches West’s fist and then swipes at West’s legs sending him down onto his back.
Kohl: Decent counter by Hawes here
Beast: Hey John, you and West have some history from way back in those BBC vs. Anarchy Club days. Can you tell us what to expect from West?
Styles: Who?
Beast: The former International Champion…
Styles: Doesn’t ring a bell I’m afraid
Hawes climbs on top of West and begins to pummel him repeatedly in the head with several punches. Dazed and confused, West tries to shove Hawes off of him. Owen Hawes gives West one more good punch before standing up and going to one of the corners. Hawes begins to slowly remove one of the turnbuckle pads.
Kohl: Hawes looks to be planning something dangerous here
Beast: That exposed turnbuckle could provide an unstoppable advantage if West gets hurt by it
Styles: No shit sherlock. Exposed turnbuckles can wreck your face if you get hit by one
Hawes grins and picks West up. Dragging him over to the turnbuckle. He tries to slam West’s face into the exposed post but West is able to just barely stop it in time by grabbing the ropes. Hawes growls at this until West suddenly elbows him in the face. Hawes stumbles back clutching his nose which has just burst open from the hit. Wiping away the blood and smearing it off on his chest. Hawes rushes towards West, tackling him down and grabbing him from behind as he tries to get up.
Kohl: My oh my. West seems to have made Hawes bleed!
Beast: Nothing like a little blood to liven up the match
Styles: Trust me, if you need blood to liven up a match then the competitors must be putting on an absolute shit show.
Hawes suddenly suplexes West who was lying on the ground, he suddenly does it again. And again. And again, not letting go of the suplex until West lies in a heap. Getting up, Hawes motions to the fans that he is away to end this match. As he motions, West has stumbled back up and looks at Hawes dizzily. Grabbing West, he slams him face first into the exposed turnbuckle bursting him open and leaving blood dripping into the ring.
Kohl: A psychopathic attack from Hawes!
Beast: I think I can see a bit of West’s brain on that turnbuckle!
Styles: … good.
As Hawes stands opposite West, motioning him to get up. The ref rushes over to West to check on him. Angry, Hawes pushes the ref aside. Making him fall down. It is in this moment West suddenly charges Hawes and hits him with his signature ‘The Crosshairs’, spearing Hawes and unstoppably punching him in the face. West’s bandages start to turn red from blood as Hawes is busted open himself. Grinning at West he pushes him off. The two stare at each other intensely. Both showing signs of exhaustion. They run at each other until suddenly a roar is heard from the commentary booth. John Styles leaps into the ring and hits West with a powerful clothesline knocking him flat onto the mat. Hawes having ducked it, goes to punch Styles until he suddenly gets hit in the face with repetitive punches. Stumbling backwards. Styles then clotheslines Hawes, spilling him over into the ringside area. He picks up West and then hits him with a Single Underhook DDT and then tosses his limp body out of the ring.
There is silence from the confused crowd as Styles hops down to the commentary booth and snatches the World Heavyweight Championship and a mic and then rolls back into the ring.
Raising the belt above his head he shouts loudly.
Styles: NIGEL!!! You know what I want! You know you owe me this opportunity.
He places the title on his own shoulders grinning
Styles: I am calling it in now! My one free title shot you owe me! So lets get a fresh ref in here and get on with it!
Sabotage by the Beastie Boys plays as Nigel Alexander walks onto the ramp. Several members of security follow, surrounding the ring and John Styles. Styles looks at the crowd of security and shrugs at them, laughing.
Nigel: JOHN! IF IT WEREN’T FOR THE FACT YOU BEAT ME I WOULD FIRE YOU WERE YOU STAND!
Styles: Nigel! You heard me, where’s the ref? I’m calling it in after all
Nigel: I’m afraid you aren’t getting it tonight John-boy. Oh no no no. See, I don’t even think you should be GCW Heavyweight Champion. I don’t think you have what it takes to represent GCW. But you know something. I’m willing to let you prove me wrong. See… at Malice in Wonderland, you will get your title shot against Owen Hawes…
John Styles begins to smile, looking at the championship and the beaten down Hawes.
Nigel: … IN A TRIPLE THREAT MATCH WITH THAT MAN RIGHT THERE!
Nigel points at Kidd West, John’s smile fades away slightly
Styles: I see you are already trying to stack the deck against me Nigel. Well, I accept your challenge. So be it, at Malice I will face these two men and I will beat them. But be warned. If you try and interfere in any way, I will kick your ass.
Nigel: Deal. Security, if you may confiscate the GCW World Heavyweight Championship off this vagabond and escort him from the premises.
As the security begins to try get into the ring, the lights shut off, when they come back on John Styles is nowhere to be seen. The World Heavyweight Championship sits in the centre of the ring as the camera fades out
