A fireworks display of red and blue flashes off repeatedly as Sabotage by the Beastie Boys plays over the loudspeaker. We see shots of the stage and ring as well as crowd before cutting to the commentary table where Terry Kohl and Beast Jackson are standing
Kohl: Welcome to Friday Night Vindication LIVE from the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma! We have an action packed show for you tonight folks as we fast approach Ascension!
Beast: Right Kohl, we get to see a glimpse of what is to come with Darius Seeiso vs. Edgar Whateley tonight! As well as the ever disgruntled John Styles taking on former International Champion Kidd West!
Kohl: Don’t forget we have a hot match coming up as Jensen takes on the Answer which is up next!
A graphic plays showing Jensen & The Answer’s finest moments together, it is almost touching to see them working together as a tag team, it suddenly cuts to their scuffle last week as they push each other in the ring. We see an angered Answer walking backstage as an audio clip plays over saying “Thank You Jensen, Fuck You Jensen, Let Me Do My Job”
Kohl: How touching…
Beast: Lets get this on!
Jensen vs. The Answer By Kenji Yamada
Fink: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for one fall. Making his way to the ring first, from Providence, Roade Island, weighing in at 180 pounds, The Answer!
*Through a chorus of boos, Man on the Silver Mountain can be heard as The Answer emerges, proudly holding his prestigious title aloft. While his eyes are closed, Answer saunters down to the ring, title still in the air, with a small grin evidently showing. As he reaches the ring, he lowers the title and makes his way inside the squared circle. Once he is in the centre, Answer bows before coming straight back up with the title again in the air. *
Fink: And his opponent, from Portland, Oregon, weighing in at 217 pounds, Jensen!
*As the Pines by Portugal The Man begins to play, Jensen emerges and raises his arms, triggering the fans to respond with cheers. He walks confidently to the ring, high fiving fans on his way down but keeping his mind focused on the task at hand. After making his way into the ring, he removes his florescent jacket and his international belt, carefully handing it to the ref for safe keeping. *
Kohl: Well Beast, this is going to be great. Two of GCW’s longest servicing competitors squaring off in what is essentially a warmup for ascension in which these men will join four others in the ladder match.
Beast: Hell yeah! The former International champion versus the Current and Longest Reigning Prestigious champ. This is going to be a classic.
Kohl: Wasn’t his title supposed to be defended in all his matches?
Beast: Stop living in the past Kohl! Just enjoy what is about to unfold.
*With both men in their respective corners, the match begins. The Answer starts off with the odd insult, hoping to put Jensen off. However, Jensen is unfazed as he locks in a killer headlock before bringing The Answer to the floor, still holding on to the head*
Kohl: Jensen keeping a firm grip on The Answer as he moves to his back. He stands…What a huge German suplex from the floor! Answer rolls to his knees, but is greeted with a shining wizard to the back of the head.
Beast: Watch it Jensen. Don’t ruin Answer’s face. He needs it for his weekly show.
Kohl: You actually watch that?
Beast: Of course! I suppose you don’t?
*As the commentators continue to bicker, Jensen lifts Answer to his feet as he Irish whips him, setting up for a pele kick. But as he launches his leg up, The Answer stops just before the impact as Jensen falls onto his stomach. He moves to his knees but is met witch a vicious forearm to the back*
Kohl: Answer there with a solid move there, putting him in firm control of this match.
Beast: Of course he’s in control, he’s always in control.
*The Answer makes it to his feet and decides to gloat to the crowd, triggering boos from the crowd. He grabs Jensen by the head and sets him up for powerbomb in the center of the ring. But before he lifts Jensen, He shakes his head and turns to the ropes. Now in position, The Answer lifts Jensen and powerbombs him to the outside*
Kohl: Good God! That couldn’t have helped Jensen’s back after his recent return from injury.
Beast: And it looks like he will be going straight back onto the injured list at this rate.
Kohl: You may be right Partner. Can Jensen get back into this contest as GCW Vindication rolls on.
*Cut to commercials for Ascension*
*We return from commercials to see Answer with Jensen in a Camel clutch, screaming at the ref to ask Jensen if he wants to give up*
Kohl: Welcome back to Vindication where we are in the middle of Jensen versus Answer who are both looking to gain momentum going into the Ascension ladder match.
*As Answer keeps shouting at the ref, the crowd begin to urge Jensen on as he starts to stir and fight his way out of the hold. He manages to slip his arm out and roll away from Answer only to be greeted by a knee to the stomach. With Jensen winded in front of him, Answer throws him to the ropes to set up for a returning cloesthline. However, Jensen ducks and is able to connect with a springboard cloesthline which urges the crowd to cheer. *
Kohl: Here we go Beast. Jensen is picking up a head of steam as Answer staggers to his feet. Jensen with a stiff cloesthline, followed by another, Answer attempts with a cloesthline of his own but misses…And his hit with a pele kick to the top of the head!
Beast: What did I say earlier about Answer’s face? Stop It Jensen!
Kohl: Answer is still on his feet as he staggers away from Jensen. But what’s this? Jensen is signaling something…Shotgun Dropkick into the corner! He goes for the pin….1…2…Answer kicks out!
*Jensen looks at the ref in disbelief as Answer kicks out. He thinks for a moment before jumping to his feet and attempting to hype the crowd for censored colours. *
Kohl: Oh dear, Jensen is ready to end this match, he’s lifting Answer to his feet, here he goes…NO Answer pushes him away and Jensen knocks the ref! Jensen turns to apologize before turning back to The An…HEY! The Answer with a low blow! The Ref didn’t see it. He goes for a school boy roll up…1…2…3! Answer just stole the win!
Beast: What do you mean “stole?” He took his opportunities when he had them and this time it gave him the win.
Fink: Here is your winner, The Answer
Graydon T. Luther vs. Gamga Block
“The match was a dud. A dead cow could get greater applause than what these two did. Graydon and Gamga went to a stalemate victory as both men were counted out. Suddenly we saw a crew of jobbers storm down the ring, beat them down and then drag them and toss them out of the arena as Nigel Alexander stood behind them ripping up their contracts. Overall, a terrible match followed by a strong segment. 1.5/5” – Mitch Roberts, GCW.com Editorial Staff
Sway Archer vs. Andrew Jordan vs. Simon Cade
“The perfect set up for Simon Cade’s title shot and a great debut from Andrew Jordan. Cade and Jordan started a temporary alliance to get the champ out of contention before turning on each other. It was an absolute bedlam as Andrew Jordan and Simon Cade traded blows until ‘The Ace’ hit Jordan with a powerful Breakdown driving his skull in to the mat. Turning his attention to the dazed Sway Archer, he quickly grabbed him in a rollup and secured a strong 3 count. Overall a great day for Simon Cade as he heads into Ascension. 3/5” – Andrew Kowalski, GCW.com Editorial Staff
Angle 1
Kohl: We have received word from backstage that Owen Hawes will not be able to compete tonight. His injury last week against Kidd West was confirmed not to need surgery. There is no word on whether or not he is present at the Chesapeake Energy Centre or is off recovering-
Beast: Well where else can a freak of nature like that go? I doubt there’s a Marilyn Manson fan club within 50 miles of here that would volunteer to take him in
Suddenly the lights go out in the Chesapeake Arena and the opening lines of O Fortuna begin to echo. A few seconds go by, and a red spotlight in the center of the ring replaces the darkness. The spotlight shows Owen Hawes sitting in a chair in the middle of the ring, with his ankle in a brace and a wooden cane leaned on the side of the chair. The World Heavyweight Champion is holding a microphone that he slowly raises toward his mouth before beginning to chuckle.
“Somebody finally decided to play my game. I’ve waited oh so long for somebody- anybody who understands that to truly win in this arena you must assert your dominance on each and every one that stands before you. Ah, but you chose an interesting way to go about asserting that dominance.”
Owen Hawes gestures to his injured ankle.
“I can’t really complain, now can I? I’ve done my fair share of…demonstrations. But to be fair, I’ve never really been on the other side. I guess that’s what makes what happened so interesting.”
Owen Hawes grabs his cane and raises himself up to stand. He uses the wooden cane to walk as he limps closer to the camera. His smile is gone and replaced by a scowl.
“But, Mr. West, don’t you dare confuse my intrigue with forgiveness. Let the games begin.”
Owen Hawes lifts his arms to his sides as the arena goes completely dark. As the lights come up, Owen Hawes, the chair he was sitting on and the cane have all vanished.
Beast: … You don’t think he heard me call him a Marilyn Manson fanboy Kohl?
Kohl: Scared, Beast?
Beast: N..no
Kenji Yamada & Jack Rodgers vs. Red Dragon
“Kenji Yamada & Jack Rodgers vs. Red Dragon. This can only be described as a bloodbath. Rodgers was out of his depth as Dragon tossed him around the ring effortlessly. Yamada looked on in horror, unsure whether to tag in or not. I was pretty sure Dragon killed Jack Rodgers when he hit him with a Legacy of the Disturbed. Either way, Yamada eventually had to try intervene, when we was about to break up the pin Dragon gave him what could only be described as the ‘I Will Kill You If You Stop Me’ stare. Dragon got the three count and Rodgers got stretchered out in the end, past Edgar Whateley who was watching this match with keen interest at ringside, taking notes. Kenji Yamada will have a monumental challenge to overcome at Ascension as his Hardcore Championship rematch comes ever closer, 3.5/5” - Evander Pierce, GCW.com Editorial Staff
John Styles vs. Kidd West
“This match was a whitewash, Kidd West tried too hard to use his newfound insanity to power his fighting style. John Styles effortlessly countered the former International Champions offence. Styles threw West around the ring, locked him in the Sharpshooter and was beating him relentlessly. West caught back on form for about 5 seconds as he quickly grabbed Styles and prepared to hit a Burning Hammer until the lights shut off. When they came back on West was on the ground unconcious. This bought Styles enough time to hit West with a Styles Stomp and put the match away with a three count to secure victory. 3.5/5” - Gareth Monaghan, GCW.com Editorial Staff
Darius Seeiso vs. Edgar Whateley
“The final match of the night, one with a stipulation that whoever wins will decide the rules & style in which their match will be fought in at Ascension. Both men looked on at the GCW International Championship which was present at ringside. As the match got started Seeiso and Whateley locked up in the middle, Whateley was able to hit Seeiso with a great suplex. The match was pretty much a back and forth slobberknocker as both men traded blows across faces. Whateley hit a powerful cannonball into Seeiso sending his head jerking back painfully. It was at this precise moment he picked him up and hit Seeiso with ‘The Thing That Should Not Be’. From there on the match was finished. Whateley scored the fall and will now get to decide the terms in which he and Seeiso will compete for the GCW International Championship. 4/5” - Scott Laing, GCW.com Editorial Staff
