blasts loudly across the Phillips Arena as the graphic for Malice In Wonderland appears. We cut to Terry Kohl and Beast Jackson at the commentary table, the music still playing in the background.
Kohl: WELCOME TO GCW MALICE IN WONDERLAND IN BEAUTIFUL ATLANTA, GEORGIA!!!
Beast: What a packed show we have in store for you sitting on your fat asses at home!
Kohl: If you’re here right now we have the highlights from our pre-show exclusive to the GCW Network!
Kenji Yamada vs. Captain Rump
A great debut match for the ‘Ass With Class’ Captain Rump! Making his presence felt in the ring. He was not able to beat Kenji Yamada however. Kenji was able to avoid getting an ass in his face and was able to get Rump down for the count after hitting a slick Reverberation and then a Drop The Bass!
Rating: 2.5/5
Red Dragon vs. Mason Childers
Fink: Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, from parts unknown, weighing in at 232 pounds, he is the hardcore champion, Red Dragon!
*Behemoth’s O father, O Satan, O Sin begins to play as lightning strikes can be heard. A small line of fire erupts as Red Dragon emerges from under the stage. Red Dragon gives a small grin to the booing crowd as he slowly makes his way to the ring. Once he is at the ring, he slides in and leans onto the ropes, waiting for his opponent to make his entrance*
Fink: And his opponent, from Gordo, Alabama, weighing 365 pounds, Mason Childers!
*As Balls to the Wall by Accept begins to play, the lights cut off in the arena. As the line “Watch the Damned” is said, A spotlight turns on to reveal Mason, taking a knee. As the chorus starts, the lights turn back on and Mason stands up with his fist in the air. He begins to walk confidently down to the ring. As he turns the corner, he high fives one fan and makes his way up the steps into the ring. Once in the ring, he extends his arm as if to embrace the crowd.
*With both men locking eyes in their corners, the bell rings*
Kohl: Here we are Beast with the final preshow match as Red Dragon takes on Mason Childers. What do you think we could expect from this match partner?
Beast: Mayhem. Just pure mayhem. You are putting the most psychotic man in GCW against one of the largest men in GCW. This is going to be one hell of a collision!
Kohl: You are probably right, and we will have to see whether Mason’s injuries have healed up fully and if Red Dragon will target it.
*The match begins much like how Red Dragon’s match began last week. Red Dragon attempts to psych out Mason by urging him to hit him. Mason, trying not to be affected by the mind games, winds up his right hand. As he continues to spin his arm around he smiles at Dragon before stopping his arm and headbutting him straight in the nose. Surprised by the sudden strike, Red Dragon backs off clutching his face, only to be followed by a forearm strike, turning him around. Mason takes the opportunity to grab hold of Red Dragon and perform a back suplex, dropping Dragon back into the centre of the ring. With Dragon positioned perfectly, Mason slowly makes his way to his feet and runs to the ropes and back into a big splash. He goes for a pin…1…2…Dragon kicks out! *
Kohl: A great start there by Mason as he is completely unfazed by the mind games of Red Dragon.
Beast: And just at Red Dragon, we’re only a few minutes in and he’s already busted open!
*Mason makes it to his feet first and waits for Red Dragon to do the same. As he does, Mason grabs Dragon and goes for a scoop slam, but Dragon slips out behind him and kicks the right leg of Mason. Mason stays on two feet but hobbles forward away from Dragon who strike the left leg instead. Now close to falling, Mason struggles to keep his balance as Red Dragon rushes to the ropes and rebounds with a cloesthline from hell, knocking the big man down. As he does so he gets right up close to Mason’s face and screams down his ear, drops of blood splattering onto Mason’s face. *
Kohl: And just like that, Red Dragon has gained control of the match. We’ll just have to see whether he can keep it.
*With Mason in an all too familiar position, Red Dragon mounts him and grabs his head. Immediately Red Dragon begins to viciously headbutt Mason but this time doesn’t make him bleed. Instead, Dragon climbs the top rope and signals for Mason to get to his feet. Although extremely groggy, Mason starts to make his way to his feet but just as he makes it to a bent position, Red Dragon launches from the turnbuckle and hits a jumping curb stomp, slamming Mason’s head to the ground. *
Beast: Oh, my God! That was a brutal move! I’m surprised Mason’s skull isn’t two times smaller after that.
Kohl: I have to agree with you their partner and as we assumed, Mason is now bleeding just like Red Dragon. Dragon’s going for a pin…1…2…Mason Kicks out! What resilience.
*Frustrated with the kick out, Red Dragon starts to club Mason’s back with his arm and occasionally knee’s him in the stomach. Now satisfied with the beating, Red Dragon begins to drag up Mason to his feet as he signals to the crowd with a grin and a thumb across the throat, instigating boos. The crowd suddenly realise that he is about to attempt a legacy of the disturbed with a 300+ pound Mason and go quiet to see if Dragon can pull it off. He tries to snap Mason up, but is unable to lift him. He tries again, but it’s more of the same. As he goes for a third attempt Mason quickly reverses into his own suplex, crashing Dragon to the mat. *
Kohl: Oh boy Beast, the crowd are starting to cheer. It looks like a comeback is coming.
*And Kohl was correct as Dragon stumbles to his feet, only to be met by a shoulder barge by Mason who waits for him to get up again before hitting a second shoulder barge and then finally grabbing Dragon into a scoop slam/big splash combo. The crowd start to cheer much louder as Mason signals for the Tuscaloosa touchdown. Dragon struggles to his feet and is lifted into a military press by Mason. But, just as Mason is about to hurl Dragon into the turnbuckle, Dragon frees himself and connects instantly with a legacy of the disturbed, silencing the crowd*
Kohl: What a move by Red Dragon, he couldn’t hit it earlier but he sure as hell hit is now! He’s going for the pin…1…2…MASON KICKS OUT!
*Red Dragon, furious from the kick out, turns to the ref and threatens him with a raised fist. He soon realises that a disqualification would not solve anything and he begins to climb to the top rope. He gives one final grin to the crowd and attempts a nail in the coffin…but misses as Mason rolls out the way! Now with a great chance, Mason quickly seizes the moment as Red Dragon makes it to his feet to charge past him into the ropes and run back…connecting with Moose Charge! He goes for the pin…1…2…3! *
Fink: Here is your winner, Mason Childers!
Kohl: There’s the results of the pre-show for your enjoyment! Now, what match are you excited for Beast?
Beast: Personally? I can’t wait for the return of Simon Cade! It’s been a long time and he should win his title match no bother!
Kohl: Be careful what you wish for, he literally got a facefull of cage last time. I think he may be too cautious for his own good.
Beast: So anyway, what is up first?
Kohl: The Hardcore Battle Royal I believe?
The Hardcore Battle Royal
Because certain members of the writing staff can’t be trusted to get matches in on time, the battle royal ended in a tied finish when Jesse James, Ken Rodman and El Masko eliminated each other at the same time. Both men spilled over the rope and their feet touched the ground at the same time. This left Nigel Alexander storming down to the ring and accidentally tearing both quads in anger. So at ExtraVaganZa there will be a three way dance to discover a #1 Contender.
Sway Archer © vs. Simon Cade – US Championship
The loudspeakers sound off: “Simon cade is coming, so run.”
Cade walks out before stopping on the stage. His nose is crooked, as a result of the last match he had with Sway.
Beast: Simon’s nose looks absolutely hideous! I can’t watch this!
He takes a few steps before doing a turn, then raising his arm. Pyro erupts on either side of him, and he walks down to the ring. When he gets in the ring he goes to the furthest corner from the ring and sits down, awaiting his opponent.
The arena goes dark. As the drums hit, the lights flicker along with them. Sway walks out on stage bobbing to the music. He points to the stage, then points to the sky. He kisses his fist, and starts down the ramp. When he gets to the ring, he rolls in, points to the sky, and sparks rain down from above. He jumps onto the top turnbuckle, and takes off his title, raising it to the audience. As he jumps down, the cage begins to lower.
Fink: The following contest is a cage match, and is for the GCW United States Championship! Introducing the challenger, from Farmington, Connecticut, Simon Cade!
Simon leans back into the ropes and raises a hand to the audience.
Fink: And his opponent, from Chicago, Illinois, he is the GCW United States Champion, Sway Archer!
Sway raises his title to the crowd, pressing it against the cage and chuckling.
The ref hands the title out through the door, and calls for the bell.
Kohl: This match is underway, and look at Simon!
Simon Cade immediately charges at Sway and hits a flurry of punches in the corner. As he beats Sway down, he starts stomping, before taking a break to yell at the audience. He goes back over to deal with Sway, only to be met with a kick to the chest. Simon staggers back, and Sway hits a dropkick.
Beast: Sway with a smart strategy, attack the busted nose!
Sway scurries to his feet and begins climbing the cage. Simon, not far behind, snatches Sway’s ankle, and tears him down. Sway gets trapped in between the ropes and the cage, and Simon starts pummeling him again. Simon backs up, and charges, spearing Sway into the cage.
Kohl: Cade using the cage to his advantage now, very unique offense!
Simon backs up again, and nails another spear. Sway starts coughing, and Simon backs up, taunting him. Simon charges again, and Sway jumps, letting Simon crash head first into the cage. Sway jumps over the ropes and rolls over Simon’s back.
Beast: Simon is gonna be even more disfigured now! What is this world coming to!
Sway sprints off the ropes, and rebounds with a running knee to Simon’s back. He drags Simon down to the mat, before hitting a springboard moonsault. Sway goes to climb the cage again, but stops when he gets to the top rope. He looks back to Simon and laughs, before launching off for another moonsault. Simon rolls out of the way, and Sway lands on his feet. Sway goes to pick Simon up, and is met with a low blow. Simon then spins Sway around, and lands a Breakdown.
Kohl: Breakdown! This could be it!
Simon rolls Sway over and crawls into the pin.
Beast: Simon’s got it! 1! 2! NO!
Sway kicks out, and Simon holds his head in shock. Simon shakes his head, and stumbles to his feet. He looks down to Sway, and then to the cage. He looks up, before running over and starting to climb the cage.
Kohl: Simon gingerly making his way up the cage in front of our announce table here, Sway coming to now.
Sway gets to his feet, and scrambles to make it up the cage after Simon. As Simon gets his feet over, Sway grabs hold of his hair.
Beast: I told you to shave your head Simon! Not only would you look more bad ass and less like a neo-nazi, but we wouldn’t be having this issue!
Sway drags Simon up, and his face goes blank. Simon is struggling, but as his eyes meet Sway’s, he calms down slightly. Sway starts laughing.
Kohl: What the hell, Sway is laughing atop the cage! What’s going on!
Sway screams at Simon “Good luck Icarus!”, before throwing him off the cage, sending him crashing through the announce table.
Beast: Oh my god!
Kohl: Sway Archer just through Simon Cade through the announce table!
Beast: But that means Simon won the match!
The bell rings and Sway laughs even louder. The ref outside the ring runs over and tries to bring Simon to, but he’s knocked out. Sway slowly descends the cage, and walks by Simon, laughing.
Edgar Whateley © vs. Darius Seeiso – International Championship
The lights go completely black and smoke fills the stage - a green spotlight follows Whateley down to the ring as he carries a large, leatherbound, ancient looking book wrapped in black felt - with strange golden symbols imprinted on it. He sits in the ring crosslegged and removes the book, studies a few passages, and as the main, higher pitched synth line of the music starts, the lights fade up to a green glow, and then continue to fade to the regular house lights. At this stage he places the book back in its cover and removes his overcoat, now ready to fight.
As 'Murmaider' blares through the arena, the lights fade low, and the audience is plunged into darkness. A white fog engulfs the stage, and deep blue spotlights scan through it. As the guitar starts, you begin to see Darius slowly rise from below the stage. He has a spear in hand, and the tag team title around his waist. He saunters down to the ring, his head bowed, bobbing slightly to the guitar. Darius drops the spear as he approaches the ring, and the lights fade up. His pale grey eyes are affixed on the International Championship around Edgar's waist. Darius rolls into the ring, and raises a clenched fist to the audience, before retreating to his corner, and kneeling, never taking his eyes off Edgar.
Fink: The following contest is a two-out-of-three falls match, and is for the International Championship! Introducing first, from Maseru, Lesotho, weighing in at 265lbs., he is one half, of the GCW Tag Team Champions, Darius Seeiso!
Darius unbuckles his championship belt, walks towards Edgar, and raises it high. Darius looks at the title, shakes his head, and chucks it at Edgar's feet. The crowd gasps at the display, and Edgar laughs as the ref intervenes to ensure the competitors keep separate.
Kohl: Darius not showing much respect for the title, or his opponent here tonight!
The ref sends Darius back to his corner, and motions to Fink to continue.
Fink: And his opponent, from 'The Mountains of Madness', the GCW International Champion, Edgar Whateley!
Edgar turns to the audience and makes a shooing motion, before turning back to Darius. He removes his overcoat and tosses it to ringside.
Darius faces the corner and bows his head. As the bell rings he turns around, and gets caught with a stiff forearm from Edgar.
Beast: Darius is down! That could be the first fall!
Edgar dives into the pin, but Darius kicks out at one and rolls out of the ring. Edgar laughs and shakes his head, before returning to his corner, picking up his book, and reading a bit of it.
Kohl: Edgar maybe taking a little too long to gloat here!
Darius slides back into the ring, rubbing his jaw a bit. He nods, and offers a hand to Edgar. Edgar goes to slap the hand, but Darius catches Edgar's hand, and twists it into an arm wringer, before taking a headlock. He snaps Edgar down with a headlock takeover, and starts pummelling away.
Beast: You see? The cheap shot from Edgar brought out that aggressive side of Darius.
Kohl: Yeah but is that gonna work against him?
Edgar slips out and ducks a punch from Darius, before landing a German suplex. Darius quickly works to his feet, and tackles Edgar again. This cycle of aggression and separation happens a few more times, until Edgar rolls out of the ring. Darius hops out of the ring to try and catch him, but Edgar rolls back in. Darius, frustrated, slides back in, and springs to his feet, only to be met with the sick crack of a forearm from Edgar. Edgar continues to hammer away at Darius with knees and elbows. Darius crawls to the corner, where he is met by a cannonball senton.
Beast: Edgar is slowly picking apart Darius! This is gonna be a slaughter!
Edgar drags Darius to his feet, but Darius hits a wicked jumping knee. Edgar staggers backwards, hits the ropes, and cracks Darius with a forearm. Edgar, still shook, falls into the pin.
1!
2!
3!
The crowd cheers but the ref’s hand didn’t drop for the three count. He waves off the bell and points to Darius’ foot.
Kohl: No, that’s not three! Darius has his foot under that rope!
Edgar argues with the ref for a while, as Darius groggily makes it to his feet. Darius goes to turn Edgar around, and instead, Edgar retaliates with a straight right, staggering Darius. As Darius stumbles, Edgar flips Darius up, and goes for "The Thing That Should Not Be".
Beast: A punch like that, and this powerbomb? That's it!
Darius wiggles out of the powerbomb, and superkicks Edgar in the back of his head, before rolling him up with a schoolboy. Edgar kicks out, but as he makes it to his feet, Darius hits another superkick, and then quickly sprints off the rope, rebounding with a Royal Fury knee. Darius quickly slides into the pin, and secures the first three count.
Kohl: Darius Seeiso scored the first fall! 1-0 Darius!
The two competitors lay down in the ring for a bit, winded. Darius comes to, the ref raises his hand, and Darius panics. The ref informs him the match isn’t over yet, and Darius snaps. He goes to drag Edgar to his feet, but Edgar thrusts his head into Darius' jaw, sending Darius flying backwards, clutching his face. Edgar springs to his feet, and continues the onslaught. The ref tries to break Edgar away, to no avail.
Beast: Edgar isn’t stopping! He’s lucky the second fall hasn’t started yet, because Edgar would have been disqualified several times over at this rate.
Kohl: That’s right Beast, neither competitor has been standing at the same time, so the ref has yet to call for the bell.
As the stomps continue, Darius rolls out of the ring, and the ref pushes Edgar back into the corner. As Darius makes it to his feet on the outside, the ref calls for the bell.
Kohl: Both competitors are standing under their own power, the second round so to speak, can begin!
Edgar goes over to the ropes to grab Darius, but as he pokes his head through the ropes, Darius cracks him with a steel chair.
Beast: A chair! Disqualification! Second fall goes to Edgar!
Darius slides in the ring and keeps wailing away on Edgar, focusing on the head and neck. After almost a dozen shots, the ref is finally able to stop Darius, and gets the chair out of the ring. Darius backs up to the corner, and lays in wait.
Kohl: Darius still has one fall to work with, and Edgar is in horrible shape!
Edgar makes it to his feet, the ref calls for the bell, and Darius charges, nailing Edgar with a Royal Fury. Without even letting Edgar fall, he picks him up, and spikes him with the Night Driver.
1!
2!
3!
Kohl: New International Champion! Darius beat Edgar!
Owen Hawes © vs. Kidd West vs. John Styles
Fink: This match is scheduled for One Fall and is for the GCW World Heavyweight Championship!
The lights black out. There is silence for a few seconds. the bell tolls and we see a spotlight shine into the crowd where a figure dressed in a black jacket with a black skull mask stands. Another spotlight appears at the other end of the stadium revealing the same figure. This continues until at least 4 masked men have been revealed, their masks engraved with the words War, Famine, Pestilence and Death. They begin to make their way through the crowd, each wielding a sledgehammer and raising it above their heads. The figures glare at fans on their way to the ring and climb over the barricades. Standing on the apron. All 4 men raise their sledgehammers as a massive fireball shoots from the centre of the ring and the lights die. When they come back on only one man remains. Removing his jacket and mask to reveal himself as Kidd West, with black shorts instead of his traditional white.
Fink: Up next, from Los Angeles, California… he is The Renewed, JOHN STYLES!!!
starts playing, 10 seconds go by then the lights go out, 20-30 seconds pass and they come back on with Styles standing with his arms outstretched and facing the titantron. He spins around and looks all over the arena before slowly making his way down the ramp. When he gets to the ring he looks around again and walks over to the steps, he runs up them and runs into the middle of the apron points with both hands out to the crowd and then runs back to, and climbs up, the turnbuckle. He bows his head so that his hair is covering his face, shakes it and then flicks his hair to the back of his head (basically Roman Reigns style) and quickly points both fingers to the air then jumps down and faces the hard cam and looks around waiting for his opponent.
The lights go out in the Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The song White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane begins to play. The titantron shows a video of a blonde girl who is frantically running through the forest. The forest seems endless, with trees as far as the eye can see. The girl is wearing a blue dress with a white apron.
The girl looks behind her and sees a giant rabbit chasing her. She turns between the trees to evade the rabbit; a giant set of twins stands in her way. In her panic, she turns around and runs a different direction. There, a giant purple cat approaches her. She turns between the trees again to see a small house with a sign that says “Salvation”. She opens the door to enter. The video’s screen goes dark and a loud scream echoes across the arena.
The first jingles of Avenged Sevenfold’s Nightmare begin to play. The opening riffs of the song begin, and finally, Matt Shadow’s infamous “Nightmare!” is bellowed across the arena.
Raised from a platform underground, Owen Hawes emerges, arms to his side with his World Heavyweight Championship around his waist. He is wearing a disheveled green suit with a matching green top hat. He laughs to himself as he gets off the platform and makes his way down the ramp. He then stands atop the apron facing the ramp and motions to the entranceway. There, the girl comes running from the back, her skin is much paler and the bags under her eyes can be easily seen. She runs into the ring and kneels by Owen Hawes’s feet. The Nightmare puts one hand over her head, and one lifting his World Heavyweight Championship up in the air. He smiles as the lines “It’s your fucking Nightmare!” is played. The lights shut off, and as the come on, the little girl is gone.
Kohl: Wow… what a spectacle… This certainly is going to be a powerful match!
Beast: Powerful is an overstatement. This is going to be some methodical shit!
The bell rings. The three men look at each other. West and Hawes lock eyes and nod. Suddenly they rush forward at Styles together and begin to double team him, hitting him with punch after punch and kick after kick. With Styles being forced back into a corner. West and Hawes repeatedly stomp into him until he looks almost broken. West pumps up the crowd by climbing the nearest turnbuckle and shouting at fans to pump them up.
Kohl: My god they are double teaming John Styles!
Beast: Do what you can to win, that’s the motto and they seem to be sticking by it!
Whilst West is distracted. John Styles swings back at Hawes with a strong punch. Sending him stumbling backwards. Styles runs over and drop kicks West in the back sending him tumbling over the ringpost and falling onto the ringsteps painfully. Styles grabs Hawes and hits him with a half nelson suplex. Standing strong Styles roars strongly and quickly covers Hawes.
1.. 2..KICKOUT!
Styles picks up Hawes by Hawes counters back and begins to repeatedly strike Styles in the head. Suddely lunging forward and grabbing him into a Belly to Belly suplex sending Styles flying into the corner where he painfully crashes and lands upside down.
Owen Hawes charged him and hits a painful cannonball onto Styles.
Kohl: What a battle between these two titans!
Beast: Don’t look now but West is getting back into the ring, this is gonna be great!
Hawes drags Styles centrally into the ring. West nods to him and suddenly springboard moonsaults onto Styles leaving him clutching his ribs in pain. Hawes picks up Styles who suddenly fights back, punching Hawes back into the ropes as West rushes over. Styles elbows West in the face sending him stumbling backwards. Styles grabs Hawes… Single Underhook Facebuster! Hawes slowly gets back up… SUPERKICK! Hawes is sent stumbling over the ropes from that!
Kohl: My oh my! Styles is essentially fighting a handicap match here!
Beast: The fact he’s been able to resist this long is a testament to himself!
Styles turns around and his suddenly hit with a flying clothesline by West. West picks Styles up and hits him ‘In the Crosshairs’, repeatedly pummelling Hawes’s head leaving him dazed and downed. West looks over to where Hawes is to see him still lying on the ground outside. West quickly grabs Styles and hits him with the Burning Hammer, smacking his head right onto the mat. West quickly covers him
1..2..3!
Kohl: He’s done it! West has done it!
The ref comes into the ring and hands West the GCW World Heavyweight Championship. He raises it above his head in victory as his entrance theme plays loudly across the arena and the fans chant for him. West looks at where Hawes was to see he has disappeared from sight. Unconcerned, West keeps raising his championship in celebration.
