Below are a general outline of the rules in GCW. For more depth information, check out the Introduction to GCW.
- One RP a week (additional roleplays can be done in the character development boards)
- 2,000 word max (quality over quantity)
- Don't speak/act for other wrestlers in your RP without permission.
- Foul language/violence is allowed, knock yourself out. As long as it remains in-character, say what you will.
Who decides who wins? And what are RP' judged on?
Competitive RP's will be judged by Siuol Corin. You can read his statement on criteria here.
What are we looking for in RP's?
- Character Development: Take us on a weekly connecting story, not just a random RP of you talking in a ring.
- Spelling/Grammar: Probably most basic criteria, if a judge notices a lot of mistakes they will mark it down.
- Feud/Storyline Development: Are you actually ROLEPLAYING as a wrestler in the storyline/feud? Or once again are you just smack talking in a ring?
- Entertainment: Is it enjoyable? It's subjective but simple. Make the judge say "sweet, he posted his RP I can go read it!" not "oh boy, gotta slog through that again"
- Your reply to opponent will NOT be judged: In order to prevent things like sand bagging, do not spend your whole RP countering your opponent. It's lazy and disrespectful to make your opponent post first just so you have more material to write about.
RP Do's
- 1 RP a week
- 2,000 word max
- Develop your character
- Develop your feud/storyline
RP Don'ts
- Don't use characters without permission
- Don't make excessive grammatical errors
- Don't throw the feud/storyline in booking teams face (example: if booking team has someone kidnap your wife at a PPV, don't post a RP the first week after grabbing her back. We gave you this story for a reason! Use it!)
- Sandbag your RP or rely on countering your opponents RP
When are RP's due by?
RP closes at 9am EST/6amPST on Tuesdays.
When are show results and new cards posted?
Vindication is posted on Wednesdays. We hold one monthly PPV on the last Wednesday of every month. New cards are posted after the last show.
What if I'm busy or going on vacation?
Just let us know. You aren't required to RP every week, whatever the reason is, if you cannot RP this week let us know so we can make sure not to book you.
Can I be Stone Cold Steve Austin?
No, you must create your own character. For both a creative reason and to prevent WWE cease and desist orders.
