So I've now written this post twice because my sister knocked over my computer the first time and deleted the first version. The first version was very well written and comprehensive but this maybe won't be. Let's see. So.
Your new Creative Team is Shio Corin, Aaron Black, and Kidd West.
Shio Corin is Main Admin, Booker, and Match Writer.
Aaron Black is Board Admin, Graphics, and Booker/Occasional Match Writer.
Kidd West is Booker and Match Writer.
Now of course, Sioul Corin is still the match judge and Seth Corin will be doing things from time to time again, but for the most part, we are your team.
Next. We are moving Vindication to Wednesdays and the new deadline will be Tuesdays at 9 AM EST.
Finally, and this is the big one so pay attention, I have proposed the idea of transitioning into a Hybrid E fed. The team has agreed to my concept and now we present it you all.
How it will work:
There will be 2 kinds of matches:
Competitive: What we currently do now for every match. Roleplayers write their stuff and the winner is determined by a judge based on their criteria.
Angle: The winner of these matches are determined by a combination of storyline and booking. The best way to progress a feud will decide the winner of these matches.
Now, just to get it out of the way:
Championships will always be defended under Competitive status. You'll never have to worry about losing your title under an angle. The Television Champion will always be in competitive matches as that is the burden of his title.
The same goes for number one contender matches as well as PPV matches. So you might lose a few matches going into your big moment but if you really are the better writer, you will win the feud, contendership, title, etc.
Now I have listed the Pros and Cons for this kind of change below:
Pros
Less stress on a weekly basis. You'll no longer have to write the best rp you can every week because your minor matches won't reflect them. This doesn't mean that you're going to lose every week, just that your matches will be determined on what works best for your storyline or feud rather than anything else.
We will most likely be able to stay completely on schedule since angles will be planned ahead of time. If we know the PPV card weeks ahead of it because we've planned it, there's no reason it can't be posted on time.
If we stop worrying about writing the best roleplay of all time for every match we're in, we'll most likely have less no-shows.
More cohesive booking and planning ahead of time.
Sioul will have to judge less things every week but that's really just a perk for him.
Cons
You will take losses. This is the only true con I can think of. Your character will lose sometimes, which would be determined based on where an angle is going. Ultimately this won't matter as much because when it comes time for you to really shine, you will get to win by competing. So if you really are that good, it will pay off anyway.
Everyone will still be required to roleplay every week but we want to shift that into a better system of planning feuds and storylines so that this e-fed feels more like a wrestling promotion rather than an MMA promotion. The current system has made it so people focus more on feuding with whoever their opponent is on a weekly basis and less on developing actual rivalries. The new system would see a major change in the way communicating is done in GCW between the roleplayers and the creative team, involving actually planned out feuds and directions for characters.
Everyone will be assigned a Push based on their level at the moment, and that will also reflect in angle matches. A main eventer would fare better against a midcarder, an established tag team would do better than a randomly put together or new tag team, etc.
These pushes will change based on what you do with your character, if you're able to win your feuds, etc.
Now keep in mind that whenever two guys want to actually compete against each other, they can always request their match be set to Competitive. We will never not allow you to compete as long as both you and your opponent(s) agree to it and if not, we can work out a compromise.
So with that said, let me clarify, this is a proposal from us to all of you. We're only doing this to make the e-fed better for you so we're going to take a vote on it. There will be a poll attached to this announcement and we would like to ask everyone to think about this transition, vote yes or no, and then discuss why they did so as a reply. We welcome open discussion on this idea as we're all here to have fun and at the end of the day, it comes down to what you guys want.
