Hi all!
I’m Lou (or Siuol Corin) and I’ve been the “man behind the curtain” for some time now. I pick the winners each week and I’ve been asked to explain my methodology. I wish to allay any fears that there’s any sort of bias, nepotism, or any other kind of special treatment. In an effort to be completely transparent I will say that I am personally close with both Seth and Shio, but that has in no way compromised my ability to be objective in my judgement.
Every week I read each RP and judge based on content, quality, storyline/character development, and, to a lesser extent, grammar (taking into account your character’s style). I am not given any prior information about anyone’s plans, wishes, or goals (aside from being a champion…I mean, who doesn’t want that?). Outside of deciding the winners each week, I have no stake in this what-so-ever. The only reason I’m even involved in this is because Shio convinced me that I would be the best choice for an objective moderator. I agreed because, after a couple weeks of reading all of your RPs, I was surprisingly entertained and wanted to see where these stories were going. Being able to help shape these has been far more enjoyable than I would have thought before.
To give you some insight into my methodology let’s look at the last PPV. Obviously, if you don’t RP in any given week you lose. If it’s a team event your partners CAN bring you down, BUT I do take into account the quality of your RP against the others. For example, if your partner doesn’t RP, but your’s is substantially better than everyone else’s you can still win it. So, even if you know you’re partner can’t make it before hand, you should still give it your all. In the three-way tag team match of the PPV the Devils lost it easily, and while it was fairly close between Electric Ice and Axis, Drew and John earned it.
Now Armageddon was particularly difficult for me. Freddy can back me up on this, but I couldn’t pick the winner until the last minute on that one. Everyone did great. No offense to him, but I really didn’t want to give it to Drew since I knew he was already winning in the tag team match. I’m not going to get into all of the intricacies of how I choose (‘cause I don't want to make it too easy for everyone to pander to me LOL), but I will say that Kidd almost took it. After re-reading them NUMEROUS times (seriously, it was really close between all of them for various reasons), I whittled it down to Drew and Kidd. As much as I didn’t want to give two wins to one person, in the end, I felt he deserved it. Similarly, the same went for the title match between Aaron and Shio. It was close, but Shio took it.
I will continue to be an objective judge, but you are more than welcome to contact me with any concerns or questions you have about the process (for the future or what’s happened already). Good luck to you all and, in all seriousness…someone take that motherfucker Shio down!
